A.k.a. Harley Walker Jr.
Durham, North Carolina USA Hotwax Harley began spinning in 1981. He relocated to Durham, North Carolina in 1989 taking the residency at Power Company where he pioneered North Carolina's house music scene. He also co-produced the Drama After Midnight EP on the late Aaron-Carl's Wallshaker Records out of Detroit. Harley's track "Soundz Weird" was co-produced with Grammy Award-Winner house deejay / producer Maurice Fulton under the alias "2 Flights Up." These were only the beginnings of Hotwax Harley's career. Hotwax Harley's sound has crossed the country, been featured in California's URB Magazine and has shared the stage with headliners such as Scott Henry, Hipp-E, Max Graham, Dave Ralph, Sandra Collins, Sasha, John Digweed, Kimball Collins, Josh Wink and Rabbit in the Moon, just to name a few. In 1999-2001 along side of Brooklyn, New York native Mark Kane, Harley started Radiance, a Wednesday night weekly electronic dance music event held at the Gotham Nightclub in Chapel Hill, NC. After over 104 Radiance events, they had a roster of guest and resident deejays that read like a who's who of North American deejays, that varied in genre and skill, ranging from bedroom deejays to deejays credited with inventing entire genres of electronic music, for example Kevin Saunderson and A Guy Called Gerald. Hotwax Harley's history, talent and experience in electronic dance music has truly earned him the title as one of North Carolina's most diverse and talented deejays yet. Taking a hiatus for some 10 years, Hotwax Harley is now returning to the dance music circuit to reclaim his fame that his skills and unique ability to read crowds has earned him. Please join him on the dancefloor to sweat and let the good times roll!
