Hub Kapp And The Wheels
Sigh, Cry, Almost Die / Bony Maronie

Single US 1964 on Capitol Records label
Rock and Pop (Vocal)

The band was the creation of Bill Thompson, for the Arizona kids' television show 'Wallace and Ladmo'. Pat McMahon portrayed 'Hub Kapp', with exaggerated 'wolfman' eyebrows. Despite being a total 'put on', the music industry took them seriously, and the group eventually performed on 'The Steve Allen Show' and secured a Capitol Records contract. Their first single, 'Work, Work' outsold the Beatles for a time in the Arizona area.
