Band, 1990-1996 US, Evanston, Illinois
Alternative and Rock
December 28, 1990 - March 27, 1996 and then some. Hubcap was Andrew Zboralski, Billy Smith, and Jay Ryan. After a disasterous New Trier high school radio show in 1990 as the ill-fated straight-edge band, Naugahyde Nation, Andy and Billy began the "legacy" that is Hubcap. With the help of their friends, Steve Albini and Dylan Posa, they recorded their one and only album, "Those Kids are Wierd" - misspellings and all. Actionboy Records put out the vinyl only release in 1996 and Andy mysteriously disappeared for awhile. Bob Nanna (Braid, Hey Mercedes) and Ryan Rapsys (Gauge, Euphone) helped out in the drum department. Andy was back, but Jay left for Dianogah. Sava Vuckovic then played bass. In 2001, 54'40 or Fight! Records put out a proper CD reissue of the album with a roller coaster ride of quality bonus tracks. Members and x-members of Dianogah, Haymarket Riot, Traitors, Prophets of Rage, EggCartonZoo, Orwell, Pretty Flowers, and Whaler.
