Hubert Mortimer Eisdell, (1882-1948), an English tenor who settled in Canada in his later years, enjoyed considerable success on the concert stage in both England and Canada. While his musical training and earliest performances took place in England, Eisdell made several visits to Canada between 1907 and 1930. After taking up permanent residence in Ontario in 1933, he became involved in the Canadian music scene as a performer and teacher. [From Library and Archives Canada]
