Hugh Aston (also spelled Asseton, Assheton, Ashton, Haston) (exact d.o.b. seems to be unknown, between 1480-1485; d. 1558) He was an English composer of the early Tudor period. Took his Mus.B in Oxford in 1510 & was important enough to be asked to be Informator at Wolsey's Cardinal College in the 1530's but declined the post which finally went to John Taverner.
