"These stories, collected and translated and told by Hugh Tracey are already known by a wide audience in Africa, Europe and America far beyond their home territory of Rhodesia among the Karanga people. They appear in a book of 25 of his stories published under the title of 'THE LION ON THE PATH' and other African stories (Routledge and Kegan Paul) delightfully illustrated by Eric Byrd, with the music of each of the story songs transcribed by his son, Andrew Tracey. Other recordings, including the remainder twenty five stories all told by the author, are to be found on similar LP discs in the 'Music of Africa' Series under these titles...
