I Trolls from Genova, originally called "Golfingers" had been formed in the early 1965 by guitarist Vittorio De Scalzi the rest of the original line-up members were Ugo Guido on Bass, Giulio Menin on Drums and Piero Darini on Guitar. At the end of 1965 was De Scalzi that invite his friend and Keyboardist Pino Scarpettini to be part of the Band and was Scarpettini to propose the change of the name to I Trolls, having seen the famous stuffed Elf in the window of a store in Galleria De Ferraris in Genova. Their first single came in 1966 "Dietro La Nebbia / Questa Sera". After the first single, in the same year the original group split in two different Bands and Vittorio De Scalzi created a new line-up at name New Trolls. Also in 1966 Giulio Menin left the band and drummer Enzo Berruti (nicknamed Bunny) took his place, the same year at the band also joins the Bassist Luciano Milanese this time on guitar while the singer Ricky Tamaca joined in 1968.
