I.D. Under were a punk rock band from Chicago, IL, who existed from 1985 until 1989. Vocalist/guitarist Douglas Ward played one show under the name at his local high school with a different rhythm section before continuing with drummer Erik "Skinner" Van Keuren and bassist Audrey Shaw. This line-up appeared on the band's debut release, a 12" EP entitled "The Lords of Nothing" and Shaw's job, creating flyers for a local promoter, helped the band secure spots on shows throughout Chicago. In 1987, Shaw left the group after the romantic relationship between her and Ward dissolved and she was replaced by Zac Conway. This line-up recorded the band's lone LP, "Genericide" in 1988. The band split the following year.
