Ian Richardson (7 April 1934 – 9 February 2007) was a Scottish actor of film, stage and television, best known for his portrayal of Francis Urquhart in the BBC's "House of Cards" television trilogy. He was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) among the 1989 New Year Honours.
