Compil. US 1986 on Varèse Sarabande label
Classical (Neo-Classical)
Japan-for-U.S. CD issue of material not previously released ("Symphony In Three Movements"), as well as material previously issued on Urania LP USD-1030 ("Symphonic Suite Of Waltzes" and "Gypsy Fantasia"), all taken from the original master tapes (the former for the first time!), recorded live at the 1950 Salzburg Festival (in mono), and in stereo from a 1959 studio recording (The only available recordings of this material -- at least, at the time of this release! -- and praised for their audiophile quality in the interim!), respectively. The packaging includes an eight-page booklet with liner notes by Thomas J. Clement, a brief note concerning the recordings, and color front and back covers, the former featuring a reproduction of a painting by an unidentified artist. (The opus number of "Symphonic Suite Of Waltzes is [correctly!] given as Op. 110 in the booklet and on the CD label, and as Op. 11 on the inlay card; and the title of this particular release lists the Prokofiev pieces first on the inlay card and CD label, and the Stravinsky pieces first on the booklet and the spine, but the former is more accurate, since it reflects the actual track sequence!)
