Illogicist are a technical-progressive death metal band from Aosta, a small city on North-West of Italy. Founded in the summer of 1997 as a project of guitarist Luca Minieri and drummer Remy Curtaz, already members of Sudden Flames with Roberto Zeppa and Andrea Garrone. Quickly also bassist Roberto Zeppa and guitarist Fabio Filippone joined the group, which published in 2002 the first demo (Polymorphism Of Death). After this release Roberto Zeppa and Fabio Filippone left the band, replaced by Diego Ambrosi on guitar and Emilio Dattolo on bass. In 2003, this line-up released a new demo entitled Dissonant Perspectives. The first album was published in 2004 (Subjected) and after a new drummer, Sergio Ponti, joined the group the band went on tour in Italy and Europe. After the tour, Illogicist recorded, with new drummer Marco Minnemann a demo titled Promo 2006 and subsequently their second album The Insight Eye. Following this release, and the entrance of new drummer, Alessandro Tinti, Illogicist started a first tour in Italy and Europe, also taking part in the 2008 edition of the Evolution Festival, and then one in the United States (30 dates). With the same lineup they recorded their last release in 2011.
