The brothers Hans en Rudi Brussee started in 1982 with a band called European Syndrome. Rudi programmed the drumcomputer (Roland TR 303) and played bass wich they put on a cassette so they could play life. He played also the organ. Hans played guitar and vocals. Aintoinette was the singer. After 2 year they started with a real drummer (Pieter) , bass player (Bert van der Mark) and a new singer. This was Liesbeth Esselink wich later became well known as Solex and realeased a few records. European Syndrome played in Leiden and surroundings and released one cassette. In 1986 the band split up and Rudi and Hans started a new band called Immortal with Bert van der Mark on bass and vocals and Mike de Leeuw vocals and percussion. The drumcomputer became the Roland TR 505. So now there were 3 singers, Hans, Bert en Mike. They became well known in Leiden and arround and played a lot. Influences of New Order, Killing Joke, the Sound. Bert van der Mark was a big fan of the Sound and became well know with the band and the lead singer Adrian Borland. In 1988 they became the support act of The Sound in the Netherlands. In 1989 they released their debut album Blind Birds with the hit the Leaders. They started a project called Liefs Uit Leiden. In this were two bands: Immortal and TT Togs, a music poet, live action painter, dancers and dj`s. In 1991 Mike de Leeuw left the band because he went to China. Robert became the drummer and Jimmy Meyer the new singer. They released one mini CD called the Big Silence.
