Inocente José Carreño (born December 28, 1919, Porlamar, Margarita Island, Venezuela – died June 29, 2016) was a Venezuelan composer and academic. He won the Venezuelan National Prize for Music in 1989. He composed popular folk dances as well as classical music, and in 1989 became director of the Escuela Superior de Música de Caracas. He is the father of the violinist Inocente Carreño (2).
