Professor of Biochemistry and molecular biology at Chicago University. Has published several works on the subjects. "My research is dedicated to obtaining an understanding of the structure and the function of ribosomes. This encompasses the molecular biology of RNA and of protein synthesis. This includes studies of the atomic structure of rRNA domains, of the sequence of amino acids in ribosomal proteins, of the biochemistry of the partial reactions of protein synthesis, and the chemistry of RNA-protein and RNA-RNA interactions. In all of this the intention is to combine biochemistry, molecular genetics and structure."
