Band,
Leslie Irene Benson and Jason Reed Milner formed Irene & Reed in 2009 in Indianapolis, Indiana, releasing their debut CD, "Closer to Home," in March of 2010. Milner’s brother, Brad, a former sound engineer from Sony Tree Studios in Nashville, TN, played bass and drums on the album. Edward Venable later joined the band as the full-time drummer in 2010, helping launch their first live tour. “Struggle, Strength, Reclamation," Irene & Reed's second full-length album, was written and recorded at Sony Tree Studios in Nashville, TN, but then was unexpectedly shelved in 2013 before it could be released due to floods and technical issues. Over the band’s career, guest bass guitarists included Scott Carroll and Eric Latham. Latham also played bass guitar on demos and live tracks.
