Iron Chin

Band, GB
Musician

In the later half of 2012, following The Bruisers second reunion show for the 2000 Tons Of TNT Festival in Hartford CT, Bruiser's guitarist Scott Vieira and drummer Dan Connors along with friend Douglas Aubin (who filled in on bass for rehearsal purposes until Johnny Rioux could make the trek from TX to ultimately pick up the bass duties for the reunion) decided to keep making some noise in the rehearsal space thereafter. In early 2013 to add an extra element to the project (at this point still unnamed) Doug suggested friend Joel Pasquerillo to tryout as the second guitarist. The dual guitar sound was the dynamic they were looking for and they invited Joel Pasquerillo on board. At this point the guys were playing some classic hardcore punk standards and toying with some originals. Shortly after, Scott started tearing up the east coast Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu circuit, and decided it was time to pass the torch. So, with the suggestion of Al Barr (The Dropkick Murphys, The Bruisers) the guys invited Al's good friend Joel Paul for a tryout. Joel Paul proved to be perfect fit and the four piece line-up was again complete. In the process of crafting their songs, they tried to come up with a name for the band. This proved to be a long and difficult process given the saturation of music artists in the world today. Eventually, they all agreed to name themselves Iron Chin which, miraculously after 20+ years since that song was released, was not taken yet. The name Iron Chin was quite fitting, as it was the title of a song recorded and performed by The Bruisers (original written by, Roger Miret & Vinny Stigma of Agnostic Front), but of course, Dan Connors is a former Bruiser himself. It made for a perfect homage to Dan's past, as well as the groups future, as the foundation of Iron Chin's music is rooted in the Street Rock vein, much like The Bruisers. In March of 2014 Iron Chin played its first show @ The Shaskeen Pub in Manchester NH, as well as seven other shows throughout the year. In November of 2014 Iron Chin self released a 7 song cd/ep which was recorded at The Wild Arctic Studio in Portsmouth NH during the summer of that same year. In the Fall of 2015 Scotty "Vee" Vieira had taken over on guitar for Joel Pasquerillo for a yet undetermined length of time. Shortly thereafter the bassist and vocalist, Douglas Aubin went on to become frontman for cult New Hampshire band, Scissorfight.
