Irwin Levine (Born: Mar 23, 1938 in Newark, NJ; Died: Jan 21, 1997 in Livingston, NJ) a writer of the hit song ''Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree". Mr. Levine, who was born in Newark, was honored by the Smithsonian Institution for the song, which he wrote with L. Russell Brown.
