A.k.a. Исидор Юльевич Ахрон (Isidor Yulyevich Achron)
Isidor Achron (1892–1948) was a Russian-American pianist and composer of Jewish descent, younger brother of violinist Joseph Achron. Isidor was a child music prodigy who started giving virtuoso performances at an early age. In 1909, he accompanied Jascha Heifetz in Saint Petersburg. Achron graduated from the Saint Petersburg Conservatory in 1918 after studying with Anna Esipova (piano), Anatoly Liadov (composition), and Maximilian Steinberg (orchestration). He immigrated to the United States in 1922 and became a principal accompanist of Jascha Heifetz for over a decade, recording an extensive discography and performing chamber and solo recitals with maestro at leading concert halls around the world. In 1933, Isidor Achron ended his collaboration with Heifetz and continued performing as a solo pianist.
