Ivã had his first contact with the psychedelic world in 1997, close to the beginning of the sykadelic movement in Portugal. His interest began through visual arts; his education was related to the plastic arts. Began around 1998 as a GoaTrance DJ when a friend (DJ Marte) asked him to join a small party.
