Ivan Milinkov (Vanjus) was born in 1968 in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia. He graduated from high school of architecture in 1987 and the following year formed the funk band 'Modern Quartet'. In 1993 Vanjus joined the techno band 'Noise Destruction', and produced a large number of techno tracks in between sessions as a DJ. From 1995 he has worked as a professional video editor, but continued making electronic music and collaborated with Dušan Šević in 'SsoundSystemm', playing a fusion of ambient, house and techno music. 'Modern Quartet' re-formed on 1997 with a jam session approach, composing music on computers in a home studio with musician friends who were also able to play the tracks live in concerts, clubs and festivals. Between 1998-2000 , Vanjus also worked as a DJ on various radio stations and developed a partnership with Leche which has led to Modern Quartet to international success with tracks and remixes published under record labels in Belgrade, Brussels and London.
