Composer / Conductor of Classical and Electronic
Ivo Malec (1925, Zagreb, Croatia) studied composition at Zagreb University and within the Academy of Music. Living in Paris since 1955, he began in 1959 to be an active member of the Groupe de musique concrète directed by Pierre Schaeffer. He then started to work at the Research Services of the french national broadacsting services (ORTF) and within the Groupe de recherche musicale (GRM). He's the co-founder of Ensemble Musique Plus, and he's teaching compostion at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique in Paris from 1972 to 1990, pursuing at the same period his conductor work. He received five times the Grand prix du disque, one time the Grand prix de la Sacem et Grand prix national de la musique.
