Austrian 'liberal' right wing politician, born 26 January 1950 in Goisern, Austria, died in a car accident 11 October 2008 in Lambichl, Austria. He was Governor of Carinthia on two occasions and long-time leader of the national-conservative Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ) as well as the BZÖ, which he founded after leaving the FPÖ.
