Xylophone soloist. In 1902, he replaced Charles P. Lowe as Edison Records’s principal xylophone soloist. Within a year, he made fifteen xylophone recordings for the Edison Records label. In 1903, he recorded three bell solo titles with Edward Rubsam. By 1904, Hopkins was replaced by Albert Benzler.
