Musician / Composer / Arranger of Jazz and Latin
A.k.a. James Hill Jim Hill (10)
Trombone player, Composer and Arranger. Three time Emmy Award winning American music arranger who worked extensively in his earlier years as a brass player in big bands. After spending four years in the Navy, he played trombone with Perez Prado And His Orchestra (and played the solo on Prado's hit "Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White"). He later took up music arranging, creating many arrangements for Les Brown and his Orchestra, and eventually spread out into freelance arranging, doing charts for Lawrence Welk, Harry James (2) and others. He also became chief arranger for the first four years of the Dean Martin Show (which featured Bandleader "Les Brown and his Band of Renown"), producing orchestrations for Dean and his co-stars to sing behind.
