Band,
Musician of Electronic, Classical and Rock
Years before the White Stripes, J. M. Smig was half of the guitar/drums duo Medicine Hat. The duo later changed its name to Batwanger and eventually disbanded for religious reasons. Smig's first commercial release, "Music For Sophisticated Schizophrenics" was a noted pick of the week by Electronic Musician Magazine. The sole proprietor of Sophisticated Schizophrenic Enterprises, Smig has also produced Milk Street Mafia and Alvin, Crack and Hookers. Between 2014 and 2016, most of the Batwanger sessions were remixed and released as six separate volumes.
