A.k.a. Jacinto Joaquín Oliveros Gavilán J. Joaquin Oliveras "El Jilguero" Joaquin Oliveros
Flutist, Music Director. Jacinto Joaquín Oliveros Gavilán was born on September 11 in 1945, in Cayo Hueso (Havana), after studying flute at the conservatory García Caturla debuting as a professional with the orchestra Sensación conducted by the mythic Rolando Valdés, where Abelardo Barroso sung, passing by Melodías del 40, and later with the genius Pedro Justiz (Peruchín Jr.) In 1973 he decided to change his way, and became a member of the Combo de Senen Suárez, but Joaquin is an ambitious man and he continued his career on the orchestra Jorrín and the orchestra of Pancho Bravo where he stayed just about of one year, attracted by the Latin –Jazz, he accepted the proposal of Emiliano Salazar, he also accompanied on his jazzistic period to Frank Emilio, Bobby Carcasés and Chucho Valdés, among other celebrities. Currently he alternates his jazz tours with his participation in La Charanga Rubalcaba. I think with this short resume, no doubts J.J. Oliveros is today’s the best flute player of “five keys flute”.
