Music has been described as the universal language. Now that universal language has found a magnificent voice, from which to emanate. Ja’Nel, which means God’s Gracious Gift, began performing at a very early age. Although her family, devout Pentecostal worshippers, only wanted her to perform in church, this East Orange, N.J. native knew God wanted this gift shared with the world. After several years of singing as a soloist or with a choir in church events, birthdays, school functions and weddings, Ja’Nel, with the help of Bruce Wayne(C.E.O. Top Of Da House Ent.) secured her first record deal with Yellorange Records, DJ Tony Humphries imprint, which offices were literally right around the corner from her house. To say that Ja’Nel’s life has changed over the last few years would be somewhat of an understatement. Since the release of her Yellorange Records debut "...I’m A Queen" - which was her first time ever recording a record, and the first release on the DJ Tony Humphries imprint - Ja’Nel has gone from being an unknown writer / vocalist to a star in the making. Her sophomore import follow-up "...For You" on Bassmental Records, which charted several times, and got heavy rotation on Tokyo radio station 78.4 (SHIBUYA-FM), thereby solidifying her as a force to be dealt with. More important than the accolades, a new record deal, and managing a publishing company, Ja’Nel has found a means of delivering God’s message. Her infectious style of pop / R&B / contemporary / dance is destined to become the template for future songstress. Now Ja’Nel is back on Da Real Recordings and ready to take it to the next level. Featuring mixes from Big Moses, Ricky Ricardo Shaw, and Tony Rodriquez, "Deep" is destined to be a soul stirring, floor quacking smash hit track. It’s a record that shows the progress from ingenue to tunes smith. A lot wiser, self-assured and confident, the new release "Deep" is Ja’Nel as you’ve never heard her: anointed, powerful, and solidly in control. Ask Ja’Nel about the direction of her new single, as well as future releases, and she is extremely modest. "I really hope that people don’t hear me - I want people to hear God and be inspired & uplifted. This is a small representation of what God has given me. My prayer is that someone, somewhere is blessed by it." Along with her rigorous schedule and the anticipated release of "Deep" (April, 2001), Ja’Nel has formed her own publishing company, appropriately called Masters Mosaic Publishing. "The most important part of signing a record deal is your publishing terms. If the paperwork is not tight, then your royalties are not right. It’s all about ‘real lyrics, real music, real songs’." One listen and you'll believe "Deep Down in your heart."
