Jac and Wil Davies belonged to a musical family in the coal-mining village of Cefneithin, in the Gwendraeth Valley of Carmarthenshire. They both worked underground, although Jac left the mine at the first opportunity. During the 50s, John Edwards of Welsh Teldisc records persuaded the brothers to record for him, and their records took Wales by storm. There followed a long series of EP recordings, and concerts the length and breadth of Wales and beyond. Many will remember their appearances at London’s Albert Hall, where their homely, natural tenor voices in harmony brought the house down.
