Member of Marvin Gaye's touring band before becoming a member of Motown's The Funk Brothers. Founded the production companies Pied Piper Productions and Just Productions. Founded the Detroit labels Ashford, Giant Records (16), Sepia Records (3), Triple 'B' Records, Ashford and Awake Records.
