Rock and Reggae
Jack Blackett grew up in Coffeyville, KS, joining The Limits, which became The Red Dogs, with Butch Neese. He played with the group from 1963 and into 1966 and, with Doug, was an original creator of the swinging saxes. He was known for his creative sax playing and excellent on-stage dancing. Jack later played with The Fabulous Flippers and other bands in the Kansas and Missouri area. Much later, he was a regular and toured with Blue Riddim Band, a world class reggae band nominated for a Grammy award in the early 90's. Jack continues playing and writing music in the Kansas City area.
