From the DVD's notes: The Woodstock Jazz Festival, Woodstock, NY, was a celebration of the Creative Music Studio (CMS). Founded in 1971 by Karl Berger and Ornette Coleman, the Creative Music Studio (CMS) was a community of world-class musicians performing in an atmosphere that disintegrated conventions of form and style and restructuredthe music in new and exciting ways, ushering in a whole new generation of jazz.
