US songwriter, producer. Founded Winston Music Publishers at the famous Merv Griffin Building on the corner of Selma and Vine Street in Hollywood, CA, in 1958. Also founded Hoffman House Music. He came to Los Angeles in the late 1940's from Buffalo, NY, working as a staff composer for MGM Studios and The Hal Roach Studios. He wrote the score for the play "Louisiana Scandals" and over 200 songs recorded in the early 50's and 60's by artists like Sam Cooke ("I Thank God"), Lou Rawls, The Dillard's, Sophie Tucker, Alma Cogan ("Dreamboat"), Doris Day, Benny Goodman, The Treniers, Nat King Cole, Mahalia Jackson, Pee Wee King, The Andrew Sisters ("Teresa"), Kay Kyser, the theme song for "Hawaii Calls", the Eisenhower Campaign Song "We Love The Sunshine Of Your Smile". In the early 1960's, he founded the labels Enith International, Jano Records, Valley Records, Dome Records (4) and Boom Records (7). Enith International Records spawned the R&B groups (The Rubies, The Spats, The Tri-Lites and The Escorts). Often associated to Norman Malkin or George Motola.
