Band, US
Jack Sigler, Jr., is an American (Tampa, Florida) musician and songwriter. Jack, a big music fan ,decided to form his own group, with some fellow Brandon High School students, and so Mercy (4) was born. A producer from Hollywood, George Roberts, who was a friend of Jack Sigler’s dad, heard the group and decided to use Jack Sigler, Jr.’s original song called “Love (Can Make You Happy)” for the film “Fireball Jungle.” A couple of silver-eared DJs from Miami picked up on the band and, as they say, "the rest is history". Love (Can Make You Happy) soared to #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, and also peaked at #2 on the Adult Contemporary chart. The single, which was released in April 1969, reached over one million sales on July 15, and was awarded a gold record by the R.I.A.A. Jack Sigler, Jr. still plays (and records) as Mercy (4), releasing his/their most recent EP on iTunes in 2009.
