“The ghosts in your mind room: turn on the light and watch them burn” The core of this release is made up of samples from ancient shellac records and expired cassettes, with the addition of field recordings, analog drums and digital programming to complete the picture. The triptych represents a purging of past negativity, whilst the last track expresses a newfound sense of clarity and openness. — Warm Stranger is the latest project of James Annesley, an Australian electronic artist who started out as a jazz saxophonist and has previously released music on Esc.rec. under the name Virtual Proximity. As Warm Stranger, Annesley aims to create a feeling of darkness and mystery, but always with a light at the end of the tunnel. His unique film-like soundscapes are built using samples from warn-out records and cassettes, as well as field recordings and analog drums.
