The Oshawa-based Mellow Drama label has announced the release of a new single by James Collins and John Randall. The single, Nothing Lasts Forever (She Was Gonna Be Mine), was written, arranged, and produced by the duo at Oshawa's Quest Studios. Musicians on the session included Pierrre Paris (lead guitar), Sandro Paris (bass), with Arlene Hewitt supplying background vocals. Randall takes the lead in the production with very effective keyboard work. Both Randall and Collins have been heavily involved in theatre work and worked together with their back-up band and Arlene Hewitt in the Oshawa LittleTheatre production of Jesus Christ Superstar. The single is described by Collins as "a contemporary rock ballad that captures the essence of the melancholy emotions felt when love is lost." (From RPM Weekly - Volume 41 No.21, February 2, 1985) The B side is an instrumental version of the A side.
