Vaughan (born December 14, 1864, Giles County, Tennessee, USA – died February 9, 1941, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, USA) was an American music teacher, composer, song book publisher, the founder of the Vaughan Conservatory of Music and the James D. Vaughan Publishing Company. Regarded by many as the founder of the southern gospel movement. Father of W. B. Walbert, and grandfather of James D. Walbert.
