"My name is James Foster, Jr. I am from Idaho Fall, ID. I grew up listening to everything from Country, to 80’s Hair Metal, to Rap and Hip Hop. I really started becoming intrigued with the Heavy Metal and Hardcore genres around a young age, however, because my parents were not fans, I never had a chance to really listen to the music. One of the first really heavy bands in the Metal genre I listened to was Lamb of God, and from there I knew what I wanted to do. Randy Blythe became a huge idol of mine. Him, along with Joey Nelson from a Metalcore band called Beneath The Sky, and Alex Varkatsaz from Atreyu, all played a huge influence in my vocal development in the early stages. I am a huge fan of the Beatdown genre which is a heavier and evolved version of Doom Metal. Slow tempos, heavy guitars, low vocals…VERY low vocals. I will always love Deathcore, and American Hardcore will always have a special place in my heart. That is what I push for with Throes Of Ire when it comes to recording time. Currently, I have been jamming a lot of Black Tongue, The Faceless, Traitors, and Lorna Shore."
