Born 1963 in Gävle, is a Swedish fluteist. Jan Bengtson is classically educated and has won several awards at international solo competitions. He masteres a variety of instruments, with flute as his main instrument. He has been employed in the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra since 1989 and was also the first soloist in the Royal Court Chapel in 1997-1919. Since 1997 he has also worked as a flute teacher at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Jan Bengtson is raised in a musician family. His father Stig Bengtson was solo fluteist in the Royal Chapel, his mother Ingrid Enquist-Bengtson is soprano singer and vocalist and more, and his sister is Margareta Bengtson.
