Czech-American pianist, keyboardist, composer and bandleader. Owner of the Red Gate Studio, Kent, NY and Redgate Studios, Holmes, NY. Born April 17, 1948 in Prague (former Czechoslovakia). Son of Czech jazz multi-instrumentalist and composer Jan Hammer (2) and jazz vocalist Vlasta Průchová. U.S. resident since 1968. Best known for his soundtrack work, notably on the television series "Miami Vice", and Czechoslovak pop-art fairytale "Šíleně smutná princezna" (The Incredibly Sad Princess, 1968).
