Jan Pulsford is a composer, producer, songwriter, keyboardist, virtual artist + explorer in the world of music + technology. As a songwriter Jan helped with the writing and co-production of Cyndi Lauper's critically acclaimed 'Sisters of Avalon' album along with ‘Merry Christmas ...Have a nice life’ and the ’12 Deadly Cyns’ collection. Working with her Grammy winner partner on the ‘Shine’ album and many Club Remixes, Cyndi and Jan were writing partners for most of the 1990s. Jan’s songs have also been recorded by artists such as legendary Rock and Roll Hall of fame inductee and 2014 Oscar winner, Darlene Love. Steps, Ani di Franco, Anthony Head, DJs Julian Marsh, Junior Vasquez, 3kStatic and Soul Solution have also recorded her songs. Jan has appeared on stage playing keyboards or in the studio with the Thompson Twins, Melanie, Linda Lewis, David Schnaufer, Angelique Kidjo, Tina Turner, Nile Rodgers, James Ingram, Steve Arrington, OMD and many more. Her music for Film & TV continues to be heard worldwide including documentaries and reality shows like Oprah, X factor, Springer, MTV, American idol etc. With Jan’s music featured on over 20 CDs of production music her scores of concrete electronique have won awards at the New York Film Festival and been used in films ‘Unhook the Stars,' ‘Intimacy,' ‘Blue Lagoon’ and ‘At the End’ to name but a few! She co-wrote the UK song for Europe and provided incidental music for the Winter Olympics with long time writing partner Chico Freeman, with whom she is currently producing PledgeMusic Artist Estelle Kokot. The beautiful Freeman/Pulsford songbook, 'The Sound of You’’ is a collection of songs in the tradition of the jazz standard and they are recording it in South Africa with the legendary bassist Herbie Tsoaeli. For the last ten years Jan has been exploring the world of ambient music and virtual worlds. Always looking to expand her horizons, her weekly radio shows can be heard on Radio Jana and in virtual worlds where she performs as the virtual artist Jana Kyomoon mixing artistic colours of spoken word, live painting and music, exploring the ‘Illusion Of Reality’. She recently performed at the National Portrait Gallery and is looking forward to mixing realities at the Saatchi Gallery for the London Art Fair in Autumn 2014.
