A.k.a. Janet Furman Bowman
In 1970, Janet was hired by Ron Wickersham to work as a audio technician and live sound engineer at Alembic Studios. In 1972, Janet worked as one of the recording engineers for The Grateful Dead's historic Europe '72 tour. In September 1974, Janet founded Furman Sound Service, a pro-audio manufacturing company first based in San Francisco, California. She remained the company's CEO until the company was sold in 1999.
