Born as Hilda Pérez on July 30, 1945 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, died on January 8, 2018 in Sherman Oaks, California. An early participant in the folk music scene in New York's Greenwich Village, she met and eventually married José Feliciano, a young blind singer-guitarist. She became his first manager and tour promoter. She collaborated with José as songwriting and producing partner on several songs, including the classic Christmas tune "Felíz Navidad".
