Jarema Klich

Jarema Klich was born in 1968 in Wrocław. He started to play the guitar under the guidance of Jan Prochownik in a secondary music school in his native town and continued his education at the city's Music Academy with Piotr Zaleski. He currently works as an assistant professor at the Wrocław Music Academy. Jarema Klich has never been fond of sporting competition. He has taken part in no more than four guitar competitions, in two of which he won prizes (1989 - Kraków, 1995 - Gdańsk). Most probably one of the finest yachtsmen among guitarists, and vice versa, he has won fifth place in the tourist yacht regattas in Sztynort, the Mazurian Lake District. Jarema Klich has performed at many prestigious music festivals in Poland and abroad, including those in Lyon, Mikulov (Czech Republic), Groningen (Holland), Aalborg (Denmark), Singapore, Frutillar (Chile). Concert tours have taken him to almost all European countries, many in Asia, Africa and South America (for his own reports from some of the tours see: www.pelech.art.pl). Jarema Klich is a co-organizer of the Guitar Summer Course in Krzyżowa, As a founder and member of the board of the Wroclaw Guitar Society, he has collaborated on many projects in the city and region (the International Guitar Festival in Wroclaw, the Guitar Festival in Świdnica, a cycle of concerts 'Guitar in ArtHotel'). He died because of cancer January 10, 2013 in Wrocław.
