Jasmine Guffond was born in 1972 in Sydney, Australia, to a French father and a Swiss mother. Her first band was a drums, bass and guitar trio called BA-KA, and she later played bass in the electronic/rock group Alternahunk. Before founding Minit with Torben Tilly in Sydney in 1997, Guffond was a member of improvised ambient electronic duo Hiss (2).
