Musician of Jazz
Jazz saxophonist and music educator, Jason graduated from Auckland University (BMus) in 1994, already an established and respected saxophonist in the Auckland jazz scene, routinely performing with many of NZ's leading jazz names. He went on to further jazz studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, to study with some of the world's leading jazz players/educators including George Garzone, Bill Pierce and Hal Crook. On returning to NZ he recorded his album of originals entitled 'Subspace' - awarded Jazz Album of the Year. He continues to be a freelance performer and jazz educator in the Auckland University Jazz Program.
