Javanshir Guliyev / Javanshir Quliev -- a famous Azerbaijani composer and musician. Javanshir Guliyev was born in 1950 in Sheki. 1975 – graduated from Azerbaijan State Conservatoire, Composition faculty. 1978 – started teaching activity at Azerbaijan State Conservatoire. 1994 – taught at Azerbaijan State Culture and Arts University. 1993 – Chief of Musical department at the Azerbaijan National State Drama Theater. Compositions: 2 musicals, 4 symphonies, “Overture ” for symphony orchestra and zurna, 2 string quartettes, “Sonatina” for violin, saz, and string quartette, ” Caravan” for cello, flute and saz, “Dastan” for string orchestra, music for over 300 TV and theater performances, 8 feature films, 25 documentary films, over thousand songs.
