Musician / Composer of Jazz and Rock
Argentinian composer and improviser who plays electric guitar with or without things stuffed between its strings. He is the composer and guitarist of noise/postpunk trio COSO, the loud free improv outfit Calato, and a bizarre pop project called El Helicoptero. Past commitments include being a founding member of Buenos Aires’ Improvisers Orchestra and Enjambre de Guitarras. As an improviser, he has performed alongside musicians such as Julián Bonequi, Andrew Drury, Jorge Espinal, Michael Foster, Chris Pitsiokos, Ceci Quinteros, Christine Schörkhuber, Jack Wright and the London Improvisers Orchestra. Javier has performed extensively in Argentina, and toured across in Uruguay, Mexico, USA and Europe. He has also done residencies at Fundación Telefónica, Experimental Center of Teatro Argentino de La Plata, Centro de Investigaciones Artísticas (Argentina), and Music Omi (USA). His music can be found in labels from around the globe such as Have you said midi? (Ita), El Silencio (Chile), Jardinista! (Arg); with upcoming full-length releases on Audition Records (Mexico/Berlin) and Geweih Ritual Documents (USA) and appearances on compilations by Matemos al Claro de Luna (Argentina), Stereo-Neg (USA) and Buh Records (Perú).
