Jazz-Band Sul Americano Romeu Silva

Jazz Orchestra created by maestro and saxophonist Romeu Silva in 1923. Among his components were Fernando Albuquerque on guitar, Mário Silva on piston, Bibi Miranda on drums, Luís Lopes on sax-bass and All Pratt no sax-alto. The orchestra recorded as main artist or accompanying ensemble on more than 50 recordings for Odeon between 1924 and 1925. They toured Europe and USA for 7 years, bringing Brazilian music to be known around the world, with a repertoire of sambas, maxixes, lundus, carnival marches. Returning to Brazil, established themselves as the titular orchestra of the Casino of Urca, Rio, until its closing in 1946.
