b : 1904 in Paris (France) d : April 8th, 1972 Jean Tranchant was a successful composer in the beginning of 30s, with songs performed by himself, by his wife Nane Cholet or others (Marlene Dietrich, Jean Sablon, Lucienne Boyer ...) In 1935 & 1936, he's singing with the famous Quintette Du Hot Club De France. Probably because he was too famous during the german occupation, he's banned from musical activity during two years after the second world war. He leave France for Belgium, Swiss then South America (Uruguay, Brasil, Argentina). He comes back in France in 1963.
