(piano) Born probably Miss., before 1906. Half -brother of Coot Davis, from D'Lo, Miss. Also played trumpet, trombone, and drums, cracked jokes and tap-danced, according to Johnnie Temple. Worked in jukes around Jackson, Miss. in the early 1930s. Seen in New Orleans by Lemon Nash. Made his first recordings there in 1935, probably recommended by Little Brother Montgomery. Went to Chicago and recorded there in the late 1930s and in 1961 (with Walter Jacobs). Probably still living in Chicago in 1970. His crisp boogie playing was admired by Otis Spann.
